Sound loop (6:42), hand knitted wool
A man sits by his kitchen window and looks out onto the fjord. He’s observing the eider ducks’ mating rituals - surprisingly rough, considering that the birds’ reputation is based on their soft down. The man is intimately familiar with the birds’ behaviour, as he’s been collecting their down in the fjord’s islands for more than half a century. One day he’s contacted by artists from the city, asking him to describe what he sees out his window.
